Tangerine Intership

Duration: May – Dec 2020 (2 terms)

Role: UX Design Associate (Co-op)

Team: Tangerine Design team

During the summer and fall term of 2020, I had a great opportunity to intern at Tangerine for 8 months as a UX Designer Co-op Associate. It was an enriching experience for me to work on a diversity of projects that varied in scope and skills – from developing and managing the company’s future-facing design system – to rapidly prototyping POV design proposals that transform the current bank product finding journey.

This page showcase the highlights of the featured projects that I worked on during my Tangerine internship. Unfortunately due to the sensitive nature of some projects, I’m unable to share them in detail publicly. If you are interested in learning more, please reach out to me! 🙂

Some featured projects…

LIGHTHOUSE Design System

Lighthouse is Tangerine’s brand new design system to boost efficiency and drive alignment across all products and platforms. This future-facing system is intended to become the single source of truth to deliver a simple, accessible, and delightful client experience. The system is still evolving but it is estimated to increase design and development efficiency by approximately 25% when it’s completed.

I collaborated closely with a senior design manager on developing the system from infrastructural information architecture to building and managing design components.

  • Taxonomy based information architecture
  • Atomic design informed component library
  • Accessible and responsive components
  • Guidelines and compliance checks

“Find a Banking Product”  Journey

I lead the design for proposing an experimental “find a product” journey to help clients browse, search, and discover the banking products that best match their needs. Revamping the current multi-entrance model, this new design introduces a centralized entry-point with personalized recommendations to improve the experience.

  • Competitor analysis and user research
  • Journey mapping and need finding
  • Low to high fidelity prototyping
  • Usability testing via Userzoom
  • Presenting to stakeholders
